About Teena Patel
TimberNook Orlando is a partner of the University of Doglando, a canine enrichment facility in Orlando, Florida, founded by Teena Patel.
After receiving her BS in Psychology, Teena turned her passion for protecting the vulnerable toward the treatment of first dogs, then children. One particularly important aspect of Patel’s work has been to develop physical environments in which children and dogs felt safe, and could engage in uninhibited play.
Teena lives in Orlando with her husband, Nim, her son Naylan, and her dog Tag.

I’m a 22 year old Orlando native. I’ve had the awesome opportunity to grow up in some of our creeks and swamps scattered across the state. When I was younger, most weekends consisted of going out on a pontoon boat into the vast network that is Shingle Creek. It gave me a higher appreciation and understanding of what is out in our backyards that we take for granted sometimes. Seeing plants and animals in their natural environments taught me so much growing up.
I’ve also had the amazing opportunity to work with kids. About a year ago I graduated from a ministerial internship where I got to work closely with middle school students in a vast array of ways. From organizing outreaches to local middle schools all the way to putting on weekly services with games and activities, I learned how to effectively form positive relationships with students in order to affect their lives in impactful ways.
I’ve been honored to be working with the University of Doglando, and getting to work with kids has been the best part so far. I’m excited to see how Timbernook can help to immerse our local kids into nature and the experiences that it creates. The future is bright at TimberNook Orlando.
